FREDERICK II
(The Great, 1712-1786, from 1740 King of Prussia)
Furious Letter signed Friedrich, in German, to
Samuel Von MARSCHALL
(1683-1749, Prussian Minister under Frederick I and II),Frederick, as King, shows his anger by underlining some sentences, and sends his complaints to his correspondent stating that "you will remember my recent dissatisfaction with the gold factory. There are only small stocks of mineral ..." further saying "I ruled in the past that there has to be a good and enough store of different minerals at any time. I am very disconcerted that no one satisfies these orders. If a quantity is demanded it isn't there and has to be ordered, which means a delay of some week ...", he concludes that "to get information about who is guilty or what is happening with the lack of stocks in the factory I have decided to call a special committee which will investigate the incident ...", he then lists the members of the committee, including the Finance Minister
von Boden
, and few more high officers, 1 side 4to., Berlin, 21st December
