HUGUET (Victor Pierre, 1835-1902, French Painter

Unsigned Lithograph of his painting "Chasse au Faucon" published by the Société Artésinne des Amis des Arts, the picture shows horsemen and their dogs in Oriental dress, the figure in the foreground has a falcon on his head and is looking over the plain, 18" x 14" to platemark, total 17" x 20" minor tear on the margin expertly repaired

Huguet started at the Salon de Marseille and Paris in 1859 and presented his works from 1893 to the Société des Painters Orientalistes Français . As the main source of inspiration for his works, Victor Huguet made numerous trips to Algeria , Libya , Egypt and Constantinople.
The original painting sold for 28,000 euros at Christies.
