GREY OWL SIGNED COPY BELANEY (Archibald, "Grey Owl", Conservationist, 'Scottish Apache Indian', deceiver)

"The Tree" signed by the Author on the title page with brown pictorial paper covered boards, an Indian couple are standing and sitting by fire in front of their wigwam, white lettering on front & spine, pubished by Lovat Dickson Ltd, London, the reprint of the first separate edition in October very slight chipping to head and tail of spine.

The so called "Grey Owl" became famous as a conservationist in Canada, an original Apache Indian. It was later revealed, predominantly after his death, that he was in fact a "Drinking, womanising rogue of northern Canada", he was known to have deserted two wives and a girlfriend along with a variety of children, and used to go on drinking binges for two to three weeks because he was insecure about his personal identity. Nevertheless, his followers never let this reputation negate his large influences on their lives and the lives of others concerned with the conservation of the native Apache Indians.
