Adolphus Trollope" to Mr Chapman, then Theodosia has written a letter after her husband's signature "allow me to add my very hearty congratulation to those of my husband. Tell Mrs Chapman from me that we are all looking forward ..." the rest of her letter is not present but her signature and subscription are on the other side of the fragment, bottom third of 1 side 8vo., no place, no date

After their marriage they bought a villa in Florence, Italy. Her hospitality made her home the centre of British society in the city. Her writings in support of the Italian nationalists are credited with changing public opinions.
