Autograph Letter in French with translation, Signed, to Germain la Rousserie de Neuvic certifying, in his capacity as "professor at the School of Medicine, chief surgeon, assistant of the hospital of La Charité, first surgeon of his Majesty the Emperor of the French ..." that "Germain La Rousserie from Neuvic, department of Corrèze, followed my classes since the month of frimaire year twelve, that he attended the visit,s and clinic of the aforesaid hospice during all this time ... where he fulfilled his duties with accuracy, and a marked zeal, until the first of January, one thousand eight hundred and seven, at which time he left that hospice ...", countersigned and attestedby the Mayor of the 10th Arrondissement Urbain Firmin PIAULT (1757-1848) next to an Eagle stamp, "seen by us mayor of the 10th district of Paris for legalisation of the signature affixed above of Mr Boyer, Doctor in Surgery ...", 1 side folio with blind stamped seal, Paris, 21st September

Boyer was appointed by Napoleon as the Imperial family surgeon and accompanied the Emperor in the Prussia and Poland campaigns.
Je soussigné, professeur de l'École de médecine, chirurgien en chef, adjoint de l'hospice de la charité, premier chirurgien de sa Majesté l'empereur des Français, certifie que Germain La Rousserie de Neuvic, département de la Corrèze, a suivi mes cours depuis le mois de frimaire an douze, qu'il a assisté à la Visite, et clinique du susdit hospice pendant tout ce temps, que même en l'an treize, il fut nommé externe au Concours, placé à La Charité, où il a rempli ses devoirs avec exactitude, et un zèle marqué, jusqu'au premier janvier mil huit cent sept, époque où il a quitté cet hospice.
En foi de quoi, je lui ai délivré le présent, pour lui servir et valoir ce que de droit.

I, undersigned, professor at the School of Medicine, chief surgeon, assistant of the hospital of La Charité, first surgeon of his Majesty the Emperor of the French, certifies that Germain La Rousserie from Neuvic, department of Corrèze, followed my classes since the month of frimaire year twelve, that he attended the visit, and clinic of the aforesaid hospice during all this time, that even in the year thirteen, he was appointed non residential student by examination, placed in La Charité, where he fulfilled his duties with accuracy, and a marked zeal, until the first of January, one thousand eight hundred and seven, at which time he left that hospice.
In faith of what, I have delivered him the present, to serve him and to assert his right.
