the cartoon style image shows the golfer with his club raised preparing to take a swing, laid down on a sheet of notepaper which would have accompanied the card, signed and inscribed "card enclosed, yours faithfully", 1 side 8vo.,no place, 12th February
Braid came south from Fife as a young man, initially to make clubs for the Army & Navy stores. Over six feet tall, he could drive immense distances, He was later in demand as a course architect, including the King's and Queen's courses at Gleneagles.
