Uncle has told me since that you have been very ill. I need hardly say how sorry I was to hear it. However I hope you are getting well fast now. I often think of your nice visit to us last summer & should be much pleased if in remembrance of it you would let me now be one of the baby's Godmothers. The Princess was the daughter of Princess Alice, sister of Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna and mother of Earl Mountbatten.
Arnold Royle, was Prince Leopold's personal physician from 1876 until the Prince's death from a cerebral haemorrhage in 1884. The Queen appointed him a Groom of the Privy Chamber in November 1884, some months after Prince Leopold's death.
