Rare Photo Signed showing her half length holding her baby daughter Nancy Leeds Wynkoop (1925-2005), 4" x 3½". no place, no date, circa

From 1921 to 1930 Princess Xenia was married to William Bateman Leeds of New York, (b. 1902). (Xenia's uncle, Prince Christopher of Greece, had married Mr Leeds' widowed mother Nancy in 1920).
Princess Xenia was the younger daughter of Grand Duke George Mihailovich of Russia and Princess Maria Georgievna of Greece and Denmark. She is known for recognising Anna Anderson as Grand Duchess Anastasia.
In the summer of 1927 Xenia involved herself in the Anna Anderson case. She was claiming to be the Tsar's youngest daughter To save embarrassment to the family Xenia decided to invite her to stay at her private home. She got into serious trouble with the dowager Empress and other members of the Imperial family. They disagreed with her and her belief that she was a genuine member of the family. Xenia washed her hands of the affair and said that if the family wished to leave one of their own in the gutter it was down to them.
Signed images of this Princess are very rare.
