Printed Ticked to the Wedding of the Princess Royal admitting Miss Doyle "the the Colonnade, St James's Palace", numbered 425, 7" x 5" on green paper with the monogram of Queen Victoria at the head, St James's Palace, 25th January

At Queen Victoria's insistence the Princess Royal and Prince Frederick of Prussia married in England. The wedding took place in the Chapel Royal of St James' Palace, London on 25th January 1858. With the death of King Frederick William IV on 2nd January 1861, his brother, who had acted as regent since 1858, ascended the throne as King William I. Frederick was then the new Crown Prince of Prussia.
An exceptionally rare survival.
