Fine Document, printed with the details filled in by hand, headed "Circular", signed on his behalf "Palmerston" addressed to the "Commandant of the Central Stafford Regiment of Local Militia", stating that "for every Member of a Local Militia Regiment, who shall be resident in the Place, where his Regiment shall be assembled for Training and Exercise, and who shall be mustered in the Mornings of the Days immediately preceding, and following, the Days of actual Training and Exercise, the usual Charge, as for Men on a March, may be made, instead of the Pay and Allowances charged for Men in Stationary Quarters ...", 1 side folio., War Office, 26th April

From 1809 to 1828 he served as Secretary at War, organising the finances of the army.
