"THERE NEVER WAS SUCH A FISH - OR SUCH A FISHERMAN ..." BAX (Clifford, 1886-1962, Playwright and Author)

Autograph Letter Signed to 'My dear Roughie' saying that "Some nights ago Peter gave me a section of a salmon. It is, really, the most magical salmon that any man has ever caught since the time of the Arabian Nights, and I send you my thanks for it and my wish that you may receive 'more power to your elbow'. It is magical, I say, for although I have eaten nothing else for the last three days, it keeps on increasing in size. Last night I gave some twenty pounds of it to my wife, who was overjoyed, and lo and behold! when it reappeared on my luncheon-table, just now, it is twice the size that it was when I took it away from Peter's. I shall maintain until I die that there never was such a fish & such a fisherman ...", 1 side 8vo., G2 Albany, Piccadilly, W.1., 21st June, dated in another hand
