Deller created Oberon in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, 1960, and is the subject of Hardwick’s ‘A Singularity of Voice’, 1968. Alfred Deller and Desmond Dupré were prominent figures in the 20th century revival of early music.
Adams became principal of an Oxford College and a leader in the fields of voluntary service and rural regeneration.
