[DISNEY (Walt, 1901-66, Cartoonist, creator of Mickey Mouse)]

Secretarial signature, possibly signed by Floyd Gottredson, on the back of a printed postcard from Dennis Rebeck requesting and autograph, 5½” x 3½”, no place, postmarked Los Angeles, California, February

It is very rare to come across an actual Walt Disney signature due to the fact that the well known ‘Walt Disney’ was a creation of studio artists Bob Moore and Hank Porter. His studio assistants who drew the comic strips and movie cartoons used similar artistically capitalized signatures.
Arthur Floyd Gottfredson (1905-1986) was an American cartoonist best known for his defining work on the Mickey Mouse comic strip. He has probably had the same impact on the Mickey Mouse comics as Carl Barks had on the Donald Duck comics.
