Robert Francis St Clair-Erskine, 4th Earl of Rosslyn (18331890) was a Conservative politician. He served as Captain of the Gentlemen-at-Arms under Lord Salisbury between 1886 and 1890 and was a favourite of Queen Victoria. He married Blanche Fitzroy, (Daisy’s mother) the widow of Colonel Charles Maynard in 1866 and they had five children. This probably refers to the wedding of their son James Francis, 5th Earl (1869-1939) who married on 19th July 1890.
