His father, George V, had taken to his bedroom at Sandringham on 15th January. On 20th January, his doctors, led by Lord Dawson of Penn, issued a bulletin that “The King’s life is moving peacefully towards its close”. Dawson who supported euthanasia, admitted in his diary that he had ended his life.
