HANCOCK (Tony, 1924-1968, Comedian and Actor)

Typed Letter on a Postcard to Dennis Rebbeck apologising for “the delay in answering your Post Card, but as you probably know, we’ve been pretty busy at the Theatre since we opened at Christmas time, but I now have pleasure in autographing your card...”, I side postcard with printed message from Rebbeck on the verso, Theatre Royal, Nottingham, 29th January

He committed suicide, by overdose, in Sydney, on 25th June 1968. He was found dead in his Bellevue Hill flat with an empty vodka bottle and a scattering of amylo-barbitone tablets.
In one of his suicide notes he wrote: "Things just seemed to go too wrong too many times".
