Fine Autograph Letter Signed ‘Kenneth Bird’ to Mrs Watson Candy telling her that he has “been sorting out razorblades from all the most unlikely corners & herewith enclose the result. I think it’s an excellent idea to stir up the Hall Porter to get them out of the other tenants - so I will probably be putting contributions of small packets of old blades dropping through your letter box for weeks...”, 2 sides 4to.,30 Esmond Court, Kensington Square, 4th July

Fougasse was perhaps best known for his work in Punch magazine (of which he served as editor from 1949 to 1953) and his World War II warning propaganda posters; "Careless talk costs lives" was one of the most popular. He also designed many posters for the London Underground.
