But I shall gladly accept the offer wch you make me if health permits and desire no greater pleasure than lecturing once more before an Edinburgh audience...”, 1 side 8vo., 36 Onslow Square, 8th June no year

Thackeray is known for his satirical works, particularly his 1847–1848 novel Vanity Fair, a panoramic portrait of British society. This letter, coming shortly after its publication, was written at the height of his fame.
