But now I must tell you how perfectly ripping I think the Show Card for A.B. I never saw a more effective card, so much so that I think it would be a good stroke of business to send it to all London books Shops, these holiday folk are going to collect books. Such people often like a book that deals in some way with the country, I think. Please send it everywhere you can because I love it. I do feel grateful for all the trouble you take to keep the ship afloat. Between 1906 and 1936 she published five volumes of poetry, seven novels, and a number of short stories. The book for which she is best remembered - The Well of Loneliness came out in 1928 - a novel about lesbianism which won the gold medal of the Eichelbergher humane award but which was prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Act. She wrote The Unlit Lamp in 1924, A Saturday Life in 1925 and Adam’s Breed in 1926
