Autograph Envelope front, not signed, addressed to his Grandmother “Her Majesty, The Queen, Balmoral, Scotland”, 4” x 3½”, no place, no date

The death of his elder brother effectively ended George's naval career, as he was now second in line to the throne, after his father. George was created Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, and Baron Killarney by Queen Victoria on 24th May 1892. The envelope is annotated in pencil on the verso as by the Duke of York so is probably circa 1895.
