As I shall be motoring near Walton tom-morrow (Monday) morning I propose calling on the chance of finding you at home. Prince Frederick wrote articles for the Norfolk Archaeological Society, ‘The Connoisseur’, and ‘The Burlington Magazine’. His father Duleep (Dhuleep) Singh, 1837-1893, was deposed in 1849 after the Sikh wars and given a large pension, with part of which he bought Elveden Hall in Suffolk, where his shooting parties were famous. However, his father overspent, and after failing to get more money from government, and being prevented from returning to the Punjab, settled in Paris on his pension.
