DE GRAY (George, 8th Baron Walsingham, 1884-1965, Lieutenant Colonel)

Autograph Letter Signed to "Dear Barton" saying that he has heard that “you have some hay for sale. If you have I’d be interested to hear about it. I want some for my wife’s horses & my cows. I haven’t worked it out with any exactness but I shd say 20 tons... see me if you can supply that or any less quantity. Walsingham fought in World War I, where he was wounded three times and was mentioned in dispatches four times. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1915. He gained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Norfolk Regiment. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire and was appointed Officer of the Order of Saint John and, later, served in World War II.
