Autograph Letter Signed to Mr Barton, saying that Mr W. Clifford has recommended the bearer, Mrs Fawcett, who "would probably be serviceable to your undertaking", Serle "will endeavour to ... call tomorrow", 2 sides 8vo., Leinster Terrace, Kensington, 'Monday Evg' no date, c. lacks strip of fourth side with recipient's initials, light traces of mounting

Together with an interesting and detailed review from The Times (January 1845) of Serle's 'The Priest's Daughter' - "the first attempt by the present management of Sadler's Wells to bring out an original drama on a grand scale", as opposed to the adaptations in vogue, and naming Serle as "one of the most zealous supporters of legitimacy".
