WILKINSON (Major Sir Nevile Rodwell, 1869-1940, creator of Titania's Palace, from 1908 Ulster King of Arms)

Signature and subscription on piece, n.d., trace of pencilled date laid down on album leaf 3¾" x 6¼"

The palace, 9' x 7' x 2¼', took 15 years of what Wilkinson called 'tinycraft', and was opened by Queen Mary in 1922. It could be taken to pieces and was shown all round the world, Wilkinson weaving fairy tales about its occupants to raise money for children.
