GOODALL (Thomas, 1767-c. 1832, the 'Admiral of Haiti')

Goodall was a midshipman at 15 in the Royal Navy, but later became a privateer, taking numerous French vessels, and twice escaping after capture. His nickname comes from the help he gave to Henri Christophe, King of Haiti, 1811-1820.
