HINCHINGBROKE PAGEANT

Hinchingbroke House, on the outskirts of Huntingdon, came after the dissolution to Sir Henry Cromwell, great nephew of Henry VIII's minister Thomas, and grandfather of Oliver Cromwell, the protector. Sold in 1627 by Sir Oliver Cromwell, uncle of the Protector, to the Montagu family, it became the home of the Earls of Sandwich.
