MARY (of Teck, 1867-1953, Queen of George V)

Christmas and New Year folding card, signed and dated 1949 - 1950, to F. John Pitts, of Hatchard's bookshop, showing a fine bed of garden flowers in full colour, with, printed below, "Would that the little flowers were born to live Conscious of half the pleasure which they give", inserted is a letter from the Lady-in-Waiting, Lady Constance Milnes-Gaskell, saying "Queen Mary was very much touched by your charming letter ...", with original envelope, the card by Raphael Tuck 8½" x 6½", the letter 1 side 8vo., Marlborough House, 19th December

Pitts was acquainted with Queen Mary through the fine photograph he took of George V riding in Hyde Park.
