BERLIN AND BABELSBERG

Fine pictorial descriptions in German of the palaces of Crown Prince Friedrich (III), 1831-1888, at Berlin and Potsdam, and of his bride Victoria, 1840-1901, Princess Royal of Great Britain, very richly decorated in the Gothic manner with large initials in red, blue and gold, coat-of arms, views and ground plans, and detailed accounts of their building, their architects and art treasures, and at Babelsberg (built in the English gothic style) the gardens, fountains and views over the Havel, "sold for the benefit of the sick and orphaned", 4 sides folding card 10½" x 8½", no place, Lithographed by R.Reiß of Düsseldorf, light traces of former guard and of blue-grey offset on outer sides

From the collection of Mrs Mary Ann Wakelin (b. 1837 or 1838, nanny to the royal couple's children from c. 1860 to 1878).
