Pair of fine portrait photographs, by Chancellor & Son of Dublin, unsigned, as Duke & Duchess of Cornwall & York, showing the Duke three quarter length, full face but eyes a little to the right, in the uniform of an Admiral of the Fleet, the Duchess full length, full face, eyes a little to the left, in a long white gown with ruched shoulders and a fine full lace collar, her hand on a side table, with identifying 'flimsies' on the back and notes for press publication, 12" x 7½", no place, date pencilled on the backs small defects in margins and corners, short crease near bottom of the Duke's photo, top right corner (about 1 inch) of the Duchess' photo missing, horizontal fold in each, near margin, to create matched pair

From the accession of Edward VII in January till the 9th November 1901, when the Duke was created Prince of Wales, he bore Cornwall as his first title as heir to the throne, as well as York.
