GERARD (William Cansdale, 1851-1902, D.S.O., 2nd Baron, Lieutenant Colonel Commanding the Lancashire Hussars)

Autograph letter signed to Samuel Lawson Booth, 1836-1928, Artist and Mayor of Southport, 1897-1898, saying "we are going to have a rehearsal of procession this morning & ought to arrive at town Hall about 12-45" and asking him to "let the Chief Constable know as I have one or two things to speak to him about", embossed regimental badge in colour of the Red Rose in a black and silver ribbon, no place, no date, circa neat filing holes in blank conjugate leaf

The regiment was raised by his father Sir Robert, 1808-1887, Baronet, from 1876 1st Baron.
