Autograph letter signed to his brother Carter, saying "We are just starting for Brighton - it will with God's blessing do Maria good" (his wife the writer Anna Maria Hall, 1800-1881) and himself, and offering the use of "this house" to do "exactly as you like", it is "in disorder" but "Mary & Mrs Butter will be here - & do all you need", he is glad "your destiny will take you to Northampton & not to Crewe. You will be so much nearer us", and quoting "the message we had from our spirit-friend ['spirit' crossed out'] last night ' ...
