GEORGE (Duke of Cambridge, 1819-1904, Grandson of George III, Commander in Chief of the Army)

Pair of autograph letters signed to Lady ROSSLYN (Blanche, 1839-1933, mother by her first marriage of 'darling Daisy', [Frances, Countess of Warwick, mistress of Edward VII] , and widow of the 4th Earl), saying he will "be only too happy to attend Lady Sybil's marriage on Saturday next at 12, but you dont tell me where it is to take place", (25th May 1892), "I shall not fail to be at St Michaels Church tomorrow Saturday at 12 o'clock. I have ventured to send Lady Sybil a very small offering of affectionate interest", together 2 sides 7" x 4½", Gloucester House, Park Lane, 25th May - 27th May

The Rosslyns were close friends of the Queen and the Royal Family. Miss Blanche Maynard, Lady Rosslyn's other daughter by her first marriage, married Prince George's ADC, Lord Algy Gordon-Lennox.
Lady Sybil St. Clair-Erskine, (1871-1910, the 4th Earl and Countess' second daughter), married the 13th Earl of Westmorland.
