I found the enclosed & think you may like to have them", 1 side 8vo, 20 Eccleston Square, S.W.1., 13th December

The writer's father had made a love match with Louisa, known as 'Mrs FitzGeorge', marrying her without Royal permission in 1847. Sheppard had been Chaplain to the old Duchess of Cambridge, and published 'George Duke of Cambridge: Memoirs of his Private Life', based on his journals and correspondence, 2 vols., 1906. The Duke's sister Augusta, 1822-1916, married the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. She was a great favourite with the Royal Family, not least because she could recall what had been done at the coronations of William IV and Queen Victoria.
