Autograph letter signed to 'Mr dear Bird', saying he is returning home tomorrow from "a C.M.S. round via Market Rasen to keep my 'residence' ", and grieving to say he cannot "personally help you", he will see "Prof. Pearce", (Robert John, Professor of Mathematics at the University) "on my return ... but I fear he is tied to St Giles", 3 sides 7¼" x 4½", Church Missionary Society, London, 29th November slight creasing without loss from laying down on blank fourth side

Possibly to the Rev. Christopher Bird, Vicar of Chollerton and honorary canon of Newcastle.
