saying he is "going by the Mail tomorrow" and asking him "like a good fellow" to "redirect any letters ... to Barham Rectory, Canterbury", where his wife Charlotte's father, Canon Oxenden, was Rector, "Any Papers & there will be some by each Mail you can take to yourself ... Can I do anything for you in England 1 line to me will meet with my best endeavour ... Some of my things may come down ... on Board the Mail directed to the Commandant here, could you give your letter Sergeant orders to ask on board" for redirecting, "I return you the book you kindly lent me with many thanks", 'O[ffice] of the C[ommandant]', Crimea, 3 sides 8" x 5", '19th' no date, circa
trifling defects and light folds in outer margins without loss
An early pencil note on side 4 reads "Capt Weare Asst Adjt General Wounded at Alma". He was also Assistant Quarter Master General's Commandant at Headquarters, Crimea.
