MARIE (1875-1938, Princess of Great Britain, daughter of Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, 1843-1900, and Queen of Ferdinand I of Romania)

Two groups of photographs, on an album leaf, unsigned but identified in her handwriting by family nicknames or initials, the first, 7 photos headed 'Osborne 1901', taken about the time of Queen Victoria's death there, 6 show the party walking down from the house below the terrace and then on the beach, including her nephew 'Charlie' (Karl Eduard, 1884-1954, Duke of Albany & Saxe-Coburg Gotha), cousins 'Daisy' & Patsy' (Margaret, 1882-1920, & Patricia, 1886-1974, of Connaught), and 'Ena' (Victoria Eugenia, 1887-1969, Queen of Alfonso XIII), and seaman 'Maunders', the 7th her uncle 'William II' (1859-1941, Emperor of Germany), in thoughtful mood, (these photos 3¾" x 3¾"), on the other side are 3 photos, 'Bee & Ella Hess', showing her youngest sister Beatrice of Edinburgh (1884-1966) in the woods in the snow, pushing a well wrapped Elisabeth (1895-1903), daughter of cousin Ernst Ludwig (1868-1937, of Hesse-Darmstadt) in a small sleigh, 5¾" x 4", no place, no date, circa 1897, 'Sandra' (sister Alexandra, 1878-1942, Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg), with her new baby, on a walk way of a Gothic castle, no date, 4½" x 3½", and 'Self, Miss Parker, Marjory Lubbock', in apparently a school room, 3" x 3¾", together 10 photos no date and Osborne, edges of card rather chipped and one corner broken but held by part of guard, affecting top right corner of image of Wilhelm II
