Autograph letter signed, with transcription, to 'Dear Sir', saying his father, the statesman George Rose, 1744-1818, "will be gratified to learn that ... the Documents you wished to possess ...will be of use to you", he wishes much he could "communicate to you any particulars as to the ... Descent of Duncombe Lord Feversham. Mrs. G.H. Roses paternal ancestors were originally of the name of Brown, one of whom marrying an Heiress of the Duncombe Family took its name. - It is generally said, that the name of Duncombe took its origin in Buckinghamshire, where ... traces of it" still possess property, 2 sides 9¼" x 7½", Mudeford, Hampshire, July 1st a little faint and dusty, but can all be made out

Sir George's wife Frances, 1796-1861, was the only child by his second wife of Thomas Duncombe, of Duncombe Park, North Yorkshire. The Lord Feversham mentioned is Anthony Duncombe, (c. 1695-1763), 1st and last Baron, created in 1747. There was a later creation in 1826, to Frances's nephew Sir Charles Duncombe.
