THOMÉ (Francis, 1850-1909, French Composer)

'Le Jardin' for voice and piano, a lively, almost Spanish, 3/8 in G major, the words by Alexandre Dumas describing the flowers in the garden cultivated by Cupid, about whom "my fearful mother has never said a word!", (the music is dedicated to Dumas fils), signed and inscribed in pencil by the composer in French "to Madame S. Tarkin with the author's affectionate homage", 1+3 sides 13¼" x 10¼", Paris, Henry Lemoine, no date, circa light traces of former stitching, foredges cropped with loss of last two letters of signature on title leaf
