Autograph Postcard Signed to George M. Richards of Poole, Dorset, saying "... My father had asthma, so did my first husband, so I really know how awful it can be ... No, we were fairly sober at the end of that programme, but sad. Dilys Powell's first husband, H.G.G. Payne, 1902-1936, was Director of the British School of Archaeology at Athens, and she had a life-long love of Greece. She was film critic for the Sunday Times, 1939-1976, and president of the Classical Association, 1966-1967.
