Autograph Letter Signed to 'My dear Barton', saying he is "just off to town" but hopes "to meet you near our Orderly room on Monday morning at 9. o'clock to ride over the ground", and asking him "please bring your map", blind embossed monogram within the Garter, 1 side 7" x 4½", The [Royal] Pavilion, [Aldershot], 25th October formerly in two pieces with vertical tear expertly mended

The Duke was at this time Lieutenant Colonel Commanding the 1st Battalion, the Rifle Brigade.
