Charming unsigned Carte-de-visite Portrait Photograph, by Ernst Milster of Berlin, showing them head and touching shoulders, three quarter face towards the right, Princess Alice with a plain hair band, the Crown Princess with a more elaborate jewelled one, two striking character studies not often seen together by this date, soft-edged image approximately 1¾" x 1½" on card mount 4" x 2½", no place, no date, circa neat early identification in top blank portion of image

With the contemporary label on the verso of P.E. Chappuis, of Fleet Street, 'Photographer, Reflector Patentee, Importer and Manufacturer of Amusing and Scientific Novelties'. Chappuis' reflectors were designed to bring daylight into dark basements.
