VICTORIA ALEXANDRA (1868-1935, Princess, Daughter of Edward VII & Alexandra)

Early Autograph Letter Signed "Tora" to "My dear Jonnie", hoping that she is enjoying herself "at Liverpool & that baby does lots of funny things" and for "a little letter ... how you are & about baby", yesterday "we went to church on board the Bachhante", HMS Bacchante, in which her brothers Eddy (Albert Victor) and Georgie (George V) were serving for 3 years, visiting many British colonies, ending "we must call Papa & Mama you dont no how! I miss you to beat the egg because Lizzy turns it into another glass but I like her better than Whrite [sic] but you must not say. I remain Your loving little friend Tora", yacht's crest in blue with Prince of Wales's feathers, 3 sides 8vo., fine crest from the Royal Yacht Osborne in blue and white at the head, 16th August

Mrs Elizabeth Jones ('Jonnie', d. 13th May 1881), was for 14 years the much-loved nanny of the Prince & Princess of Wales's children. She spent her time away with her sister in Wales.
The Princess was more usually known as 'Toria' in the family.
