Most engaging Postcard Portrait Photograph, showing him full length, full face with a mop of curls, his head tilted to one side, in a little white belted sleeved tunic with embroidered edging and shorts, holding forward in the crook of his left arm his white fur cap, on a patterned marble floor against a dark background, titled below in Russian, 5½" x 3½", no place, copyright 26th August closed tear at foot just touching his feet and one letter of printed title, a few tiny white edge defects to image

The Empress so adored these pictures that she allowed them to be released as postcards. She also wanted to publicise how healthy he was.
