Paxton was with the Compton Comedy Company, 1885-1892, played Spettigue in Charley's Aunt 1026 times, 1894-1897, and toured America and Canada with Weedon Grossmith in the latter's The Night of the Party (1901). He was resident manager at Southampton, 1903-1906, where he also enjoyed the yachting.
