COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG

Handsome Programme of the first Williamsburg Award, made to Sir Winston CHURCHILL, (1874-1965, Prime Minister), at the Dinner attended by all 11 trustees of Colonial Williamsburg, at which the chairman, Winthrop ROCKEFELLER, (1912-1973, Governor of Arkansas), presented him with a Town Crier's Bell, symbolizing the award, "for his unexampled contribution ... to the historic struggle of men to live, free and self-respecting, in a just society", with a full-page colour photo of the bell, resting on an 18th century desk with candle and papers, a description of the award, the menu and toasts, and the list of over 180 guests, on the cover in a small gilt frame is the Governor's Palace and Williamsburg motto "That the Future may Learn from the Past", 12 sides folio and stiff white covers with a blue ribbon, Drapers' Hall, London, 7th December
