RUSSELL, (1900-1991, 'Cellist, Hospital Almoner and Art Collector), thanking him for his letter, which unfortunately "went to my old address", and saying "the only paintings I could show you at the moment are at Waddingtons. I left seven there a few weeks ago but I'm not sure that they are like what you bought before as I suspect they are more austere. Still ... Leslie Waddington would be pleased to show you ...", 1 side folio, 7 Brackley, Queens Road, Weybridge, 26th February four neat filing holes in blank left margin

'Mahood' contributed his first cartoon to Punch at 18, and from 1960 to 1965 was Assistant Art Editor, later elected to the 'Table'. He was the first political cartoonist on The Times, then worked for the Evening Standard and for many years for the Daily Mail.
