Autograph Note Signed 'V', saying "Send this letter by a Groom on horseback to Claremont I shall not go, he is to counter order the Post Horses!", with 'I shall not go' repeated and crossed out, adding "The Groom is to give these 5. Shilings to the poor old Woman at the turnpike, before Esher", 1 side oblong 8vo., no place, no date, circa a little worn but perfectly legible, two defects backed with very light transparent paper

Claremont was the home in England of her brother Leopold I, given him on his marriage to Princess Charlotte in 1816.
