Exceptional Silk Programme of the Gala at the Royal Opera House, the border, printed in full colours, showing the arms of Great Britain and 'RF' against the French flag, the Grand Collar of the Légion d'Honneur (worn only by the President), and a Crowned E VII R, the programme, under the musical direction of Percy Pitt, being an Act each from The Pearl Fishers (with Tetrazzini as Leila and McCormack as Nadir) and Faust (with Melba as Marguerite), 15½" x 11½" plus fringes of one and a half inches all round, designed and printed by Finden, Brown & Co., for Covent Garden, 27th May purple-brown background colouring of the border somewhat faded, the gold and other colours excellent

Fallières' visit was important as helping cement the Entente Cordiale.
