Letter Signed in Punjabi Characters, in English, to 'My dear Friend', Colonel Howard MELLISS, (1847-1921, K.C.S.I., 1897), Inspector General of Imperial Service troops in India, saying "It gave me great pleasure to receive your letter ... The state of efficiency of my troops, you allude to, is, I am sure, due to the great interest you take in its improvement ... As regards the old men in the Cavalry, I have ordered their removal from the Imperial Service squadron", he hopes "this will find you in the enjoyment of sound health", 2 sides 8vo, Nabha (west of Patiala), Punjab, 29th March light remnant of old transparent tape on side 3 (side 2 of letter) touching parts of two words (still perfectly legible)
