Autograph Letter Signed in the Third Person to 'Madame Campbell', in French with translation, sending her "the tickets for entry to the Museum of Natural History", (at the Jardin du Roi in Paris, now the Jardin des Plantes), and saying "each ticket can be used for 4 persons", no place, 1 side 8vo, Friday, 12th January light brown mark touching a short part of three lines, all perfectly legible

Monsieur Cuvier has the honour to send Madame Campbell the tickets for entry to the Museum of Natural History for which she asked, each ticket can be used for 4 persons. Friday, 12th January 1826.


Cuvier's Animal Kingdom (1817) classified living and fossil animals by their structure, and his geological researches were summed up in his Revolutions of the Surface of the Globe (1825). In 1808 Napoleon appointed him President of the National University, and he worked for public education all his life.
